AI/ML Engineer

Full time · Cambridge, MA or Remote

You will design and ship production AI systems for problems with no off-the-shelf answer: agentic workflows, retrieval and classification pipelines, and decision tools that run inside complex organizations.

What you will do

  • Own client systems end to end, from scoping and architecture through deployment and iteration
  • Build with the modern AI stack: foundation models, agents, retrieval, fine-tuning, and evals
  • Harden prototypes into reliable production systems with monitoring, evaluation, and guardrails
  • Work directly with client stakeholders

What we look for

  • A track record of shipping ML or AI systems that run in production
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, Python, and modern cloud infrastructure
  • Fluency with the current LLM ecosystem, and judgment about when not to use it
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences alike

AI/ML Researcher

You will work at the edge of what current models can do: designing experiments, developing methods, and turning results into capabilities the engineering team can ship.

What you will do

  • Design and run rigorous experiments on frontier and open models
  • Develop evaluation, fine-tuning, and optimization methodologies for client problems
  • Prototype novel methods and carry the successful ones into production with engineers
  • Track the literature and translate what matters into practice

  • Graduate-level research experience in machine learning or a closely related field

Data Engineer

You will build the data foundations everything else stands on: unifying fragmented sources across systems that were never designed to agree into one reliable representation of the organization.

What you will do

  • Design and build pipelines, warehouses, and entity resolution for complex client data
  • Reconcile fragmented systems into versioned, trustworthy sources of truth
  • Own data quality, lineage, and reliability in production
  • Partner with the AI/ML team so models stand on solid ground

What we look for

  • Experience building and operating production data platforms
  • Strong SQL and Python, plus fluency with the modern data stack
  • Judgment about data modeling and a low tolerance for silent errors

Security & Compliance Engineer

Full time · Cambridge, MA or Remote

You will own security across e52 and the systems we ship: the practices, controls, and evidence that let clients trust us with their most sensitive data, and the path through SOC 2 readiness and audit for e52 and for what we deliver.

What you will do

  • Design and run the security program end to end, from policies and controls to monitoring and incident response
  • Lead SOC 2 readiness and audits, and keep the evidence trail continuously audit-ready
  • Embed security architecture into client engagements: identity, secrets, data handling, and deployment hardening
  • Represent e52 in security reviews and diligence with client infosec teams

What we look for

  • Experience carrying an organization through SOC 2 Type II from readiness to report, ideally ISO 27001 as well
  • Hands-on cloud security depth, not checkbox compliance alone
  • Fluency in the questions AI systems raise: data governance, model access, vendor review
  • Judgment to right-size controls so security enables delivery rather than blocking it
